van lift

We recently discovered that one of our friend's has a brother who is an electrician. He's retired now, but he used to own a TV repair business in a nearby town. He spent about an hour looking at the van last week, and promised to come by our place one day and bring his diagnostic equipment with him. Since the problem we are having with the van lift is electrical in nature, he may be able to help us get to the bottom of it. If it can be fixed, and if he can wire some kind of safety cut-off switch into the system, then maybe it will be usable until we can find a replacement. It's a complicated system, but he seems to be more knowledgable than the mechanics who looked at it previously and couldn't fix it.
